I planning to attend Digital Media at Hyper Island this fall. So I'm getting ready to make the application.
The assignment I picked was to create a "TV-Channel" that involves digital media. And I guess that's easy, really easy. The other assignment was difficult as hell. So being lazy I choose the easy one.
For the first part of the assignment we are supposed to:
- Create and idea and concept
- Define and describe the target audience
- Decide content for the channel
- Decide a name
- Decide on one or several USP (Unique Selling Points)
For the second part of the assignment we were supposed to choose between "Design", "Technology" and "Management". I choose Design (of course). And the details for the Design assignment were:
"Create a graphical profile based on the concept of the TV channel. The profile should include logotype, choice of colours and typeface/s"
All assignments are all very open minded. They don't have any restrictions at all actually, well except those I've just wrote above. But they don't have any detailed instructions. The graphical profile, might just include a logo with colors and type. Nothing more. It all depends on the person who works on the assignment.
So I haven't decided yet how much to work on this. It should only take 7 minutes to go through the application work.
I have a couple of ideas and I think I'll stick with the one I'm working on right now. I'll write about that one later, don't want to risk that any other student steals my idea.
If you had the power to create a TV channel of your own choice what would it be about?

En kanal med konstiga dokumentärer och "tjej"program (One Tree Hill :P).

Maybe a TV-Channel about design, multimedia and everything what comes with it. I would like it :)
And as programs you could have daily/weekly shows on tutorials, inside a company, interviews with designers/developers and/or graphic student, etc...
Eller så föreslåer du något sånt idiotiskt som en e-sportskanal. Principen är iofs väldigt bra, en extremt nischad och hängiven målgrupp som samtidigt är väldigt starka konsumenter inom det segmentet (hårdvara och kringutrustning).

Varför inte en kanal med riktig musik på dagarna och riktiga filmer kvällstid? Kvalitétsnobb som man ( du med!) Mtv är ju döden, så varför inte göra om det , fast bättre? ;)
