So I will be visiting Wieden+Kennedy in Portland for an interview. WK are paying for the flight tickets and the hotel. I can say that I was pleasantly surprised by the whole thing, I didn't expect that they would pay flight tickets and hotel for a potential intern. This will be the first time visiting the US as well, so I'm really excited!
I've been thinking of selling my iMac so I can buy a Macbook Pro instead it's much easier when traveling. But as always, there's been rumors about a new MBP for some time. And I don't want to make the mistake buying the current macbook when the new generation is just around the corner. If anyone of you guys have any idea when the new generation is coming, write a comment please ;).
So what should I think about when visiting U.S? Any ideas? Because I have none at all. I'm not used to the culture at all. Take like tipping service people... I have absolutely no idea how to do this at all. We don't do that in Sweden, only if the person serving us is extremely good at what he/she is doing.
I'd appreciate any tips you have about the subject! Wish me good luck, I will be going 20th september.

Almost all my life I've been busy with school. Too busy to do anything real. I always had a plan. The plan helped me to organize my life, it helped me to figure out my own future. But when I didn't get accepted into Hyper Island the plan broke. I had a couple of days of total panic, then I felt relieved. It was freedom, no more life planning, I could do whatever I want and I could work with anyone I wanted to work with. It felt amazing and it still feels amazing.
These last couple of days have been amazing for me. I've gotten offers from different companies but the one that really stuck was from Wieden+Kennedy. When I talked to Sean today (their Digital Director) he asked me why I didn't go to North Kingdom. Well I could, but Wieden+Kennedy contacted me before I could contact North Kingdom. And that is amazing. I wouldn't miss an opportunity like that with a company like Wieden+Kennedy and I would like to get some experiences outside of Sweden.
I got a good vibe from Wieden+Kennedy just by reading their blog in Portland. It seems like an ideal place to work at.
We haven't discussed all the details yet and there is still a lot left to do. But I can't wait to experience it! I'll keep you updated!
